As a follow up to this post, I had a turn out of about 80 people, with some people having to stand in the back. For everyone that I had the pleasure of meeting in person, thanks for attending and I look forward to seeing you again soon. I will be organizing other events like this in the Atlanta area in the near future, and eventually branching out to other cities. I will also be posting some notes on the private seminars that I do around the world. So as we say in the BPMN world, catch my signal event. Translation into plain English, keep your eye on my blog for more....

Luka,
Thanks for the compliment, and your support on my book. I would appreciate a book review on Amazon.
I won't be posting the entire presentation that I did at AJUG but I will be putting pieces of it on my blog postings from time to time. Stay tuned and you will eventually get all of the content, but in much more detail than the slides can offer. In the mean time, feel free to suggest specific topics on SOA+BPM and I'll be happy to write about it.

Rick, can you post your presentation to AJUG so we can watch it and learn from it? Thank you in advance! Also, with this occasion I would like to congrat you for the noteworthy info on this blog. I am waiting your book (The Microguide to Process Modeling in BPMN) from Amazon to arrive and after I read it, I would like to comment on the content. Where I can leave my book-related comments? Keep it up, great work!

Sharma,
Thanks for your comments, and it was good to see you there. It was a great audience and I enjoyed presenting. It seems that Atlanta has a lot of Java developers and the SOA concepts are still fairly new to many of the attendees at this event. To the IT engineer audience, BPM is the next logical step after learning SOA. After learning both SOA and BPM there is a governance strategy for the long term that includes both practices. We don't have an official name for this yet in the industry. Someone will have to think of a cool acronym or buzzword for it. For now I just call it process governance.

Rick, did a great job in introducing the vast topic of BPM. Even though the time allotted was too short, it did make me think of doing things better at my current company. He seems to be quite passionate about this area and it did come across in his presentation. It was an interactive session with people constantly asking questions which made it quite an interesting night. It has definitely sparked an interest in me to pursue this area and learn more. Way to go, Rick!
